Meet Samantha

Samantha Cordova is a Certified Massage Therapist, CAMTC #93107. She offers Sports Massage Therapy with an emphasis on pain and injury management.

Samantha graduated in March 2023 from the National Holistic Institute, College of Massage Therapy in Sacramento, CA.

She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and continues her education with online courses, certifications, and live conferences and events.

Her background in Personal Training gave so much more perspective on the human body, and Samantha is so excited to be able to blend the two fields together to help more people feel better and move better.

Samantha has been a NASM Certified Personal Trainer since 2009. She started MissFit Training, offering Private On-on-One Training Sessions in San Francisco in 2014. She relocated to the East Bay in 2016 increasing her services to Semi-Private Training (limit of 4 clients/hour) as well as small group training where her Private clients could enjoy the benefits of group fitness socialization and community.

She then relocated to Sacramento, CA in 2019 to join forces with her partner Greg Johnson and run Varimax Fitness, a Personal Training studio. Her role at Varimax is the Executive Director, building this small business while supporting the staff of Personal Trainers in building their own professional careers.

Samantha’s professional experience in fitness includes Personal Training, Semi Private Training, Alameda Running Festival Ambassador, Pilates Reformer Instructor, small and large Group Training for outdoors & indoors, as well as Corporate Group Training. She is also active in providing Community Workshops for the general public. Health and wellness should be accessible to everyone, and Samantha is happy to deliver this great content for her community.

Samantha highly values continuing education and regularly attends fitness and business conferences and workshops to stay on top of the most relevant information that she can bring back to her clients and community. Samantha has been a member of the Fitness Revolution High Performance Coaching Program, the Todd Durkin Mastermind group, and an active supporter of the RISE Fitness Business Conference group. With Greg and Varimax Fitness, she is now a part of the Results Fitness University, a Fitness Business Mastermind Group.

Samantha is also featured in the Fitbit Coach app; is a contributor for ACE Fitness; winner for February 2018 PFP Trainer of the Month, nominee for 2019 PFP Trainer of the Year, nominee for Best Personal Trainer in 2018 for Alameda Magazine; and has partnered up with Bay Area ATHLETA to stay connected with more of her community. 

Samantha was also a part of the the small business community as a member in both the Greater Alameda Business Association (GABA) and Alameda Chamber of Commerce in her time in the Bay Area.

Samantha's interests involve camping, hiking, running, yoga, other mindful movement practices; and taking her mini chihuahua, Chica, on as many adventures as possible.

Local fitness professional, Samantha Cordova of MissFit Training, has been selected from among over 500 national applicants as one of twelve finalists for this prestigious award. The PFP Trainer of the Year is awarded to a fitness professional who is an exemplary leader in the industry and who demonstrates a strong commitment to his/her clients, career and community.
